QQI Level 5 Certificate in Early Childhood Care & Education 

Aim:

This is a one year full-time course designed to provide students with the knowledge, practical skills and competence required to pursue a career in Early Childhood Care and Education. The course is suitable for both school leavers and experienced or mature students seeking a formal qualification.

Progression & Career Options: 

Successful graduates can opt to go directly into the world of work in nurseries, playgroups, crèches, with private families and as assistants in schools and residential settings. Graduates may opt to continue to QQI Level 6 Early Childhood Care and Education course within DIFE or progress to Degree courses in:

Award: 

QQI Level 6 Certificate in Early Childhood Care & Education. 

Aim:

This one year course is aimed to extend students knowledge in theoretical approaches and provides them with the skills needed to work as a room leader/supervisor in a childcare setting.

Graduates can progress to degree studies at Third level or progress directly into employment in the childcare sector.

Entry Requirements:

Applicants must hold a Level 5 Early Childhood Care & Education Certificate or equivalent. All applicants will be interviewed.
