Award: 

The QQI Level 5 Certificate in Design (5M2208) can be used instead of Leaving Cert for entry into Third Level Colleges of Art & Design.

Aim:

This course has been designed to develop students’ skills, interest and knowledge in the area of Fashion, Costume and Textile Design and also to promote and inspire creativity within students’ work. This one year course prepares students for entry into all Third Level Colleges of Art and Design or allows students to progress directly into careers within the Fashion industry. The course puts huge emphasis on the NCAD portfolio brief which is completed as part of the course. This brief forms the basis of portfolio work req

We guide students towards their area of specialisation and facilitate students preparing portfolios for entry into Third Level Colleges of Art and Design. We encourage students to apply to all relevant colleges including:

Award: 

QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Fashion Design.

Aim:

This is a second year fashion programme offered to students who complete QQI Level 5 Fashion Design. It allows the learner to advance their design, technical and creative skills. It gives the learner a stronger understanding of the fashion industry and provides them with the skills to succeed in the world of fashion. QQI Level 6 fashion has a greater emphasis on sewing and pattern making to facilitate learners who wish to establish their own business or label.

Entry Requirements: 

QQI Level 5 Course in Fashion Design or equivalent. Applicants must also complete a successful interview and provide a portfolio or samples of their work.
